Curry and drinks night

Irene had organised an event at The Raj on Bootham, and we IVCers are very partial to a curry!! So a group of around 10 of us went along to enjoy some tasty curry and good company.

Ben decided to push his taste buds to the limit and maintained a flushed, sweating forehead sort of look, courtesy of a VERY hot curry. Only lassi (no, not the collie dog), lager and lots of rice bread saved him from a complete meltdown!

The beer flowed; the curries, rice and naan breads were all consumed, and we all enjoyed a cheeky liqueur to finish off with, courtesy of the manager. Happy bellies all round!

Next there was the decision on where to go next, as it was far too early to end the evening. So, the Three Legged Mare was agreed on, and an empty table found. Several real ales and an unfortunate incident where some lads spilt a pint of beer over Bevis and Irene's coats (dry cleaning bill well negotiated, Bevis!) and it was time to go.

And then there were three! Lindsey, Irene & Bevis soldiered on in search of a last beer (or two). Just outside St Michael Le Belfrey church, an elderly chap had fallen over, so the three amigos went over to help him. Having cleaned up his bloody nose, and checked he wasn't concussed, they put him in a taxi, paid the driver, and sent him off home.

Then on to The White Swan, which proved an excellent final destination; good beer and wine (Irene!) and a few tequila shots (Bevis, bad influence!). All too soon, it was time to go home; or to the train station to get the last train back to Leeds ..... Sadly, the latter turned into a drunken smelly bus, as the train was cancelled, but it all added to the eventful night out.

When's the next one, Irene?!
